Current Information:Age-18 64, Holly Road, Twickenham Vermelles British Cemetery, France 13th East Surrey arrived in France on 4th June, 1916 as part of 120 Brigade, 40th Division. For the next ten days they were training at Lillers before moving to Sailly-Labourse on 16th June for trench warfare instruction with 44 Brigade of 15th Division in the nearby Hulluch and Hohenzollern Redoubt sectors of the front line. They finished this period of instruction on 20th June, 1916 and moved back to Sailly-Labourse and Noyelles. Thomas Wilson was wounded whilst in the trenches on 19th June died from these wounds on 21st June, 1916. |
